This language-specific course provides an in-depth look at contractual terminology,
concepts, and grammatical structures. Through concrete, hands-on exercises, students will
increase their familiarity and gain experience in handling the language of legal
agreements and obligations.

About the instructor:
Madeline Newman Ríos is a Spanish court interpreter, certified by the Judicial Council of California and the Administrative Office of the United States Courts. She is also a certified Spanish to English translator certified by the American Translators Association. Her educational activities include presentations for several national and statewide interpreter and translator conferences, Judicial Council approved courses, and the University of California at Fullerton.

Ms. Ríos graduated summa cum laude with a Masters Degree in Spanish Translation and Interpreting from the University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley and has more than 35 years of experience as a translator and interpreter.
